Mornin,' Punkin! :)

Good morning, friends!  I am popping in today with one last Thanksgiving card post…  Just couldn't resist!  If you've been following along, you'll notice this card is in the same genre as my last couple of cards -- same patterned papers and all… (I was using a really great 6x6 pad from Authentique and since  Thanksgiving is so close, I figured I might as well try to use it up since I won't be able to get by with these colors a week from now!  ;)  Having said all of that, this is definitely my favorite of the "series."

One of my favorite bloggers is Melissa Phillips of "Lilybean's Paperie."  I love her style so much… every piece is a true work of art.  That, and I believe she is definitely a "Less is…. Not Enough!" kinda gal, too.  I know I have said I just can't do CAS and I have at long last resigned myself to that… so you can understand why I find Melissa's work so appealing…  :)

Today's card was inspired by this card Melissa posted a couple of days ago.  I love the colors and the textures and I'm not sure if she hand-designed her pumpkin or not, but the effect is that she did.  So here's my take on her card:

So what say you?  Did I do her masterpiece justice?  :)

I tore and pieced my pumpkin together and attached a little branch that I plucked off my crepe myrtle today!  The leaves are CTMH and were a gift from my sweet friend Melissa Shea.  The sentiment is from PTI and you can tell I am in love with that burlap ribbon, no?  :)

I am linking this card up to a couple of challenges:

On a separate note, I am so super excited because I am driving up to Oklahoma City today with my sister and mom and niece to see Straight No Chaser, one of my favorite groups, in concert…  It has become an annual fall tradition for us to go to one of their concerts, and this year we are introducing my niece to the fun!  Check 'em out:

Ok, so this isn't the most professionally-filmed video ever, but you oughtta get the idea of why we can't wait!  Always such a fun concert!  :)

Wishing you and yours a happy and safe Thanksgiving weekend!  May yours be blessed with family and friends, love and laughter, and as much turkey and stuffing and pumpkin pie as your waistband will allow!  :)

All Torn Up!

Good morning!  I just wanted to pop in this morning with another Thanksgiving card {I cannot believe Thanksgiving is NEXT week!!!  Seriously, where has the time gone?!?}…  We have spent every Thanksgiving of my life with my grandmother on my dad's side of the family and it just wouldn't be Thanksgiving if we didn't make our annual pilgrimage to a tiny town out in West Texas for the holiday…

This year, though, some of my favorite relatives, who normally make the trip from Nebraska every November, aren't going to be able to come down…  And I am bummed!  Seriously bummed.

So what is a card-maker to do in this situation??  You got it...
And I've got just a couple of days left to get them in the mail on time!  :)

I really am in love with this sentiment stamp…  Perfect for family members that will be so missed at our Thanksgiving celebration this year…

I had a couple of challenges in mind with this card…  The current color combo at ColourQ is one of my favorites and I love the "So Torn" theme at Cas-ual Fridays this week!  :)

Thanks for stopping by…  Are you busy planning for next week's festivities?  What will you be doing?  Hosting?  Traveling??  Whatever your plans, please know I am sending virtual Thanksgiving blessings to you and yours from here!  :)

Finding My Mojo!

Hello, friends!  I feel as though I've been gone for quite a while and I'm kinda struggling to regain my crafty mojo!  The last month has literally flown by -- and this is the time of year when I wish we could just stop the clocks and savor the season!  I love, love, love the fall…  my favorite time of year by far!!!  Ironic, since we really don't get much of one here in Texas… (which is why I always feel the urge to travel in October!)

Anyway, all of that is to say that we only have a couple more weeks to revel in the beauty of fall colors before making the mandatory leap to the colors of Christmas, so I knew that any "find-your-mojo-and-dust-it-off" undertakings would be autumnal in nature!  :)

I bought this adorable fall set from Papertrey Ink a couple of months ago, and hadn't inked it up yet, so I thought I'd give it a go…  I'm quite pleased with the overall effect of the card, but a teensy bit miffed with myself for once again making things a lot harder than they needed to be…  {anybody care to venture a guess as to what I did this time?  Or why I can never seem to learn my lesson???}  Ha!

Anyway, thank you for stopping in…  I hope you like it…  I have a couple of Thanksgiving cards I want to get in the mail this week, so I'll probably be popping in with more "fall fun" over the next couple of days!

But before I go, I wanted to share a pic I took on vacation…  I meant to get it up before Halloween, but it just wasn't in the cards…  I did a double-take when driving down the road in Cape Elizabeth, ME, and here's why:

Talk about being "abreast" of the situation -- these people are over the "moon" about fall!  :)

Have a great Tuesday!

Thankful for you! :)

Good morning!  And welcome to the November DeNami Designs Blog Hop!  I am thrilled to be participating in this month's hop (and thrilled to be back here at my "virtual" home!  :)  If you have arrived here from Emily Keaton's blog (always one of my favorite stops on every DeNami hop!), then you are headed in the right direction!  If you get lost at any point, or just want to start all over from the beginning, you can always head over to the DeNami Designs blog for the whole list!

On to the goods!  I honestly love everything about this month's hop -- the theme, the colors, all of it!  I even used the hop "badge" as my inspiration!  :)  At any rate, it all got me to thinking of all the things (and people!) I am thankful for -- and discovered there were waaaayyyy more than I could put on a single card.  So I decided I'd share just a few of the things (and people!) I absolutely couldn't live without!  :)

I've used a couple of my favorite DeNami Petit Fours sets for this card (you can find them here and here!).  I've used that little leafy stamp several times here lately and just adore it.  It adds the perfect little flourish in tiny little spaces and is fun to ink in different colors!

Thank you for stopping by!  I'm about to send you off to see what kind of super-creative treat Melissa Waldorf has in store for you, but before I do, I just want to remind you that you have until 11:59pm PST on Monday, November 12th to comment all along the hop for a chance to win a DeNami shopping spree!  :)

Thanks again for visiting!  You are yet another thing I am so very thankful for!  :)
